HENDERSON, Tenn. ­­– The No. 2 Lions (11-4, 4-0 AMC) dismantled Williams Baptist (6-8, 2-2 AMC) with a 7-0 shutout on Friday to kick off the three-game series.

It was an amazing outing for Austin Steel on the mound, who went eight complete innings and struck out 13 of the 30 batters he faced, while only conceding one base on balls.

James Dodd racked up the RBIs for the Lions after going 2-for-4 at the plate and bringing across three runs.

Bryce Lester and Will McCall each went 2-for-4 as well, including a double from Lester.

Tyrek White earned the save after striking out one batter out of the four he faced.

Games two and three will be played on Saturday, with game one starting at 12 noon.
