BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Freed-Hardeman University women's soccer team (3-2, 2-0 AMC) extended its winning streak to three games after beating Lyon College (3-3, 0-1 AMC) 4-0 on Monday.
Nele Kirsch got things started for the Lady Lions when she scored her second goal of the season in the 34th minute. McKenzie Wrather would also score for the Lady Lions in the 39th minute to give the team a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, the Lady Lions continued their dominance in the game as Morgan Leighton scored her second goal in as many games in the 70th minute and Lauren Rogers would finish off the Scots with a goal in the 83rd minute to put a stamp on the win, her first goal of the season.
Goalkeeper Holley Moore had five saves in the win, as the Lady Lions held their Lyon scoreless for the third straight game, out-scoring their opponents 22-0 in that span..
The Lady Lions controlled possession of the ball for most of the game, outshooting the Scots 20-9 with eight of those shots on goal.
The Lady Lions will continue their road trip on Saturday as they head to Kansas City, Missouri, to take on Park University. Kickoff is set for 12 noon
