Two second-half goals push Bears past Lady Lions

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The Lady Lions soccer team (2-13, 0-10 MSC) fell 3-1 to Pikeville University (4-11, 1-9 MSC) on Saturday afternoon in its final road game of the season.

The Bears were able to take a 1-0 lead in the first half, but the Lady Lions answered when Abby Elmore scored her second goal of the season on the assist by Morgan Leighton.

The game went into the break 1-1, but the Bears were able to put two more on the board in the final 45 minutes to earn the win.

The contest was primarily dominated by the defenses, with only five combined shots in the game, all five of which were on frame. Brooke Latham was able to finish the contest with one save.

The Lady Lions will close out their regular season on Tuesday when they host Bethel at the University School of Jackson. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
