Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions soccer team (2-8, 0-5 MSC) was shut out 3-0 on Thursday evening by No. 17 University of the Cumberlands in its first home game in over a week.
The defense stood strong the entire contest, despite giving up two goals in the first half on 15 shots, and just one goal in the second half on 17 shots.
The Patriots got on the board quickly in the third minute, followed by their second goal in the 29th minute.
The Lady Lions defense held on for the majority of the second half, but Cumberlands was able to score the dagger in the 77th minute.
Brooke Latham had 11 saves in goal in the contest.
The Lady Lions will host Life on Saturday at 12 noon at the University School of Jackson.
