Lady Lions blow past Bears on Senior Day

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions soccer team (4-8, 2-8 MSC) dominated the University of Pikeville (0-8, 0-8 MSC) knocking them off 5-1 on Senior Day at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex on Tuesday.

McCall Decker opened up the scoring in the first half in the 22nd minute, followed by goals from Zoe Stom and Katy Weddle – assisted by Stom – in the 26th and 29th minutes, respectively, to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Less than 15 minutes into the second half, Nele Kirsch made it 4-0 during her senior day, and after the Bears were able to get on the board, Decker added her second goal of the contest in the 77th minute.

Brooke Latham had six saves in the goal, earning the win.

The Lady Lions are scheduled to host former American Midwest Conference foe Central Baptist in their final home game of the regular season on Thursday. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
