Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 19 Lions (15-14, 8-2 MSC) fell 14-8 to No. 2 Southeastern University (29-3, 7-2 TSC) in the series finale on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions got on the board first after Josh Sears hit his third home run of the series, driving in two runs.
After a scoreless bottom of the first and top of the second, the Fire cut the Lions' lead in half, but FHU was able to add three in the top of the third when Riley Perks drove in three runs with a double to right field.
From there, the Fire would get hot, scoring eight unanswered runs to take a 13-5 lead before the Lions scored in the top of the fourth when Brady Harris crossed the plate on a double play by the Fire.
Southeastern would add five more to make it 14-6 before hit a two-out, two-run home run to make it 14-8 in the top of the ninth, but they wouldn't add another, allowing the Fire to take the series 3-1.
The Lions will be back in action on Wednesday when they take on the defending National Champions Tennessee Wesleyan on the road in a single nine-inning contest. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
