JACKSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions soccer team (0-2) fell 3-0 to Faulkner University (2-2) in its home opener at USJ on Saturday.

The Lady Eagles struck early in the 10th minute, followed by a goal in the 28th to take a 2-0 lead into the break.

The Lady Lions were unable to get a shot off in the second half, and Faulkner was able to add one more in the 66th minute to extend their lead.

Julianna Mondelli got the start in goal and finished with five saves. Jessica Musselman, Ashton Miller and Haley Miller each had a shot on goal.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to former AMC foe Williams Baptist. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
