Box Score BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The Lady Lions soccer team (2-3) knocked off Blue Mountain College (2-1) 3-2 on the road on Tuesday for its second-straight win.
The Toppers were able to go up 1-0 in the 20th minute, but it was quickly erased by the Lady Lions when Abby Elmore scored her first career goal in the 26th minute, assisted by Jalen Johnson.
The score would stay 1-1 going into halftime, but it only took 38 seconds into the second period for the Lady Lions to take the lead when Zoe Stom scored on the assist from Haley Miller. Stom would double her score line less than three minutes later in the 49th minute on the assist from Addi Burchett.
Blue Mountain was able to get one back to make it a 3-2 game in the 63rd minute, but Brooke Latham and the Lady Lions' defense was able to hold off the comeback attempt and earn the win.
Latham recorded six saves in the win.
The Lady Lions will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Georgetown College. Game time is set for 11 a.m. central time.
