HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions went down 1-0 to Florida College at the Lady Lions' home field, the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.
The game started out fast against the Lady Lions (5-4-1, 1-2-0 MSC) with the Falcons taking advantage of their momentum and making the first goal of the game a little after the 12-minute mark of the game. The goal was made by Florida College's Victoria Fonseca.
Freed-Hardeman women's soccer kept up their attack after Florida College (5-5-1, 0-1-0 CAC) took the lead in the game with two shots on goal: one by Sara Becerra and one by Camryn Kime later in the first half of the game.
In the second half of the game, the two evenly matched teams struggled for dominance and fought for ball possession in both halves of the field. The Lady Lions worked hard until the whistle blew and the game ended at 1-0 favoring Florida College.
Lady Lion keeper Brooke Latham and Florida College's goalie Gabriella Peralta both ended the game with six saves and the full 90 minutes played.

The Lady Lions' next matchup will be a Mid-South Conference matchup at the Republic Bank Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, against Thomas More (Ky.) University. The game will be on Saturday, October 8th, and the kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m CDT.
