LEBANON, Tenn. – After last week's victory over Pikeville (Ky.), the Freed-Hardeman women's team lost to 15th-ranked Cumberland (Tenn.) University in the Lady Lions' third conference game of the season. The final score of the game was 2-0.
Freed-Hardeman (5-3-1, 1-2-0 MSC) worked hard defensively with Cumberland (8-2-0, 3-1-0 MSC) only making two points while taking nine shots on goal.
Brooke Latham started the game strong with a save early just after the three-minute mark of the game. She played all 90 minutes and saved seven goals.
The Lady Lion defense followed Latham's strong start and held off the Phoenix who would score very late into the second half of the game around the 35-minute mark. The goal was made by Cumberland's Marie Bathe.
FHU would come on the attack after CU's goal and would keep the home team from scoring until the second half. The goal was made by Ella Tuplin.
