WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Freed-Hardeman University's women's soccer team had a tough task Wednesday afternoon by visiting the No. 3 University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriots. FHU lost the MSC matchup 12-0.
The Lady Lions (2-9-0, 0-3-0 MSC) were on their heels early with the Patriots netting their first of eight first-half goals at 5:20. In the first half UC sent 27 shots toward keeper
Brooke Latham, who saved nine of the 17 shots on goal before intermission.
UC (9-0-2, 3-0-0 MSC) tallied four more goals in the second half to stay undefeated in the 12-0 win.
FHU's lone shot came from the boot of
Zoe Stom, whose shot at 19:52 was on target, but saved by the Cumberlands' keeper. Playing all 90 minutes between the pipes, Latham collected 12 saves.
