FHU gets 10th win in major way

LEBANON, Tenn. — The No. 24 Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions picked up their season's 10th win while recording plenty of season superlatives. FHU tallied their season's highest point total, most made field goals, most steals, and fewest points allowed by defeating the Campbellsville University Harrodsburg (Ky.) Pioneers 86-33.

The Lady Lions (10-1) made their presence known early after Rachel Satterly's layup at 7:22 opening up an 11-0 run to give FHU a 14-4 lead. Kaylee Odom and Brooklyn Crouch would add two more points each to wrap up the opening quarter with an 18-9 lead.

Campbellsville Harrodsburg (0-6) opened the second frame with a 3-pointer, but from there it was all FHU with Alaina Stiles' layup sparking a 16-2 run to put the Lady Lions on top 34-14 with 3:29 remaining. Odom would close the half with three layups to give FHU a 40-19 halftime lead.

KJ White began the third quarter with a triple, and it was a late flurry in the final minute and a half that kept the Lady Lion momentum strong after Morgan Quick's 3-pointer was followed by another from Satterly in the middle of a 10-point unanswered streak to move to the final 10 minutes with a 61-29 lead.

It was a layup line for the girls in maroon with FHU collecting six consecutive layups before Quick and Katie Arms landed 3-pointers to cap a run where the Lady Lions held the Pioneers scoreless for the first 7:25 of the final frame to close the book on the massive 86-33 win.

FHU's 86 points, 35 made field goals, and 13 steals were all season highs and the Lady Lions nearly doubled up the Pioneers at the glass with 44 rebounds to CUH's 23.

Brooklyn Crouch led the Lady Lions with 15 points, while Rachel Satterly was 3-5 from deep to record 13 points. Kayle Odom had 12 points, with Morgan Quick earning a career-high 11 points. KJ White led with six rebounds and Raegan Purvine led with five assists.
