HENDERSON — A lone goal was the bright spot for the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions on the pitch Saturday afternoon, falling to the Indiana University-Kokomo Cougars 6-1.
It took less than 10 minutes for IUK (1-0-1) to get on the board, when off of a free kick, Ashlyn Morefield set up inside the arc to fire a shot past
Brooke Latham's left to net the first goal of the match.

Abby Schwarz answered for the Lady Lions (0-1-0) in the 34th minute when a shot from the right side of the box found its way behind the Cougar keeper to score the equalizer.
A brilliant pass from Keely Hoopingarner set up Kelsi Hoot to one-touch the game winner at 37:56.
The second half was all IU Kokomo, who fired off 16 shots while scoring four. Across the match, the Cougars out-shot the Lady Lions 29-5 with IUK sending 13 on goal, while FHU sent three on target.
