BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — In their first match after a week of action, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions fell in the last match of a road trip 2-0 to the Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) University Toppers.
It was an even draw after the first 45 minutes of play, with the Lady Lions (0-3-0) getting good angles past the defense, sending three shots on goal, all of which were stopped.Â
Blue Mountain Christian (1-1-1) sent seven shots
Brooke Latham's way, with the senior keeper stopping all three that were on target.
The second half was all Toppers, taking 11 shots to the Lady Lions' two. The hosts broke the tie with a goal at 48:45 before a second in the 67th minute put the match out of reach.
Across both halves FHU took six total shots, two from

Laura Kuehnhenrich,
Abby Schwarz, and
Zoe Stom each having attempts.Â
Latham was saddled with the loss despite making eight saves.
