MCKENZIE, Tenn. — 2024's regular season is now in the rearview mirror and the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions will prepare for the Mid-South Conference tournament after a 6-0 loss to the (RV) Bethel University Lady Wildcats.
The first 20 minutes passed scorelessly until the Lady Lions (4-13-0, 0-7-0 MSC) fell behind with a Bethel goal at 19:44. A flurry of goals stunned FHU after the Lady Wildcats netted goals in the 36th, 38th, and 40th minute to take a 4-0 lead into the intermission.
Bethel (9-6-0, 4-3-0 MSC) added two more goals in the second frame in the 64th and 88th minutes.
Hadley Husband had the best chance for Freed-Hardeman with a shot at 79:09 that was saved.
The No. 7 seed in the tournament, FHU will now gear up for a trip to No. 2 seed Campbellsville in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference tournament.Â
