ST. LOUIS — Continuing their midwestern spring break, the Freed-Hardeman Lions visited St. Louis where they faced the No. 32 Missouri Baptist University Spartans. Despite three matches requiring a tiebreaking set, the Lions fell 6-1.
After
Merlin Bolema won the first set, his MBU opponent bounced back to win the second set before claiming the No. 1 single court victory 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8. On the No. 2 court,
Nolan Laduree claimed the lone point of the day for the Lions, winning the first set 7-5 before the Spartan player answered to win the second. Laduree claimed the tiebreak and the win 7-5, 3-6, 10-5.
Theo Devals battled back after dropping his first set, but ultimately fell 6-1, 5-7, 10-3.
