HENDERSON — Squeezing in a late match in preparation for weekend weather, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions hosted the Skyhawks of Point (Ga.) University. The Lady Lions had three goals against in the last 20 minutes of play to fall 3-0.
The first half was calm with the Lady Lions (2-5-0) combining with the Skyhawks for just nine shots.
Abby Schwarz had the lone shot on goal in the half with the Poing keeper knocking it away.
Despite only having possession for 39% of the match, the Skyhawks (2-2-2) used their possession time aggressively with 13 shots in the second half. A long goal in the 69th minute sparked a run with two more in quick succession in the 78th and 84th minutes.
Schwarz led the team with two shots on target, while
Ava Pierce made five saves in the effort.
