HENDERSON — In their second home match, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions claimed victory over the Brewton-Parker (Ga.) College Barons 3-0 thanks to a brace from
Abby Schwarz.
Freed-Hardeman (2-4-0) got on the board early when
Ellie Wood broke free from the Brewton-Parker defense and streaked down the pitch untouched before rocketing her team-leading fifth goal of the season at 5:51Â The Lady Lions fired seven shots toward the Baron keeper, five of which were on the mark.
The second half was the big one for Schwarz and the Lady Lions. In the 51st minute, the sophomore took a chip shot from the top-right of the box to curl over the Brewton-Parker (0-2-0) keeper's head. FHU added a third goal from the boot of Schwarz in the 76th minute with another long goal.
FHU out-shot BPC 17-10 with
Ava Pierce recording the clean sheet with six saves.
