FHU women fall to Tigers

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions took a lead into the final 10 minutes against the Georgetown College Tigers, but the hosts netted two quick goals to hand FHU a 2-1 loss.

The Lady Lions (0-11-1, 0-3-0 MSC) were peppered with shots during the match with Georgetown getting 17 shots off toward the FHU net. Though FHU had just three shots, the second one was a big one when Ellie Wood found a seam through the attacking midfield to get into the box where her shot found the back of the net to give FHU the 1-0 lead at intermission.

Georgetown (6-5-1, 1-2-0 MSC) netted the equalizer at 81:39 when a Tiger found her way close to the FHU net where her shot beat a diving stop try to knot the game. Less than two minutes later a free kick from 24 yards out found the back of the net to stun the Lady Lions in the 2-1 loss.
