COLUMBIA, Ky. — Freed-Hardeman University's Lady Lion soccer team lined up against the same team they concluded their regular season with as the No. 22 Lindsey Wilson University Blue Raiders hosted the seventh-seeded Lady Lions as the second seed. A Lindsey Wilson goal in each half ended FHU's season with a 2-0 final in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
The Blue Raiders were aggressive from the starting whistle by driving down the pitch and being granted two corner kicks before two minutes had elapsed. It was Lady Lion (0-15-1)
Hadley Husband that got the first shot of the game off at 11:02, but her shot drifted high. An LWU striker stayed onside just long enough to receive a through pass where she rolled in the first goal of the match at 22:16. FHU would face seven shots in the opening half including two on target.
It was again the boot of Husband that tested the Lindsey Wilson (9-4-2) keeper in the 61st minute with FHU's lone shot on goal. FHU's defense held strong until the hosts netted the second goal at 78:44.
