Bonner walks off game one, FHU falls in finale

Game 1
(RV) Cumberland - 1

The first game was a classic pitcher's duel with the Lions (28-17, 9-5 MSC) and the Phoenix completing scoreless innings until Dawson Massengale to advantage of a payoff pitch to rip a solo home run to left and give the Lions an early lead.

The Lions only needed one run to win the game, but Dalton Bonner smacked a two-run home run to left to end the game in style.

FHU combined for seven hits in the victory with Cade Fuller joining Dawson Massengale with two hits.

Cooper Johnson punched out 10 batters in four innings of scoreless effort in a no-decision before Colton Bryant (2-1) was on the hill in the top of the seventh to record the victory.
