BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The third-seeded Lions of Freed-Hardeman University fell short against the second-seeded Phoenix of Cumberland University 13-5 in the late game on Thursday.
All five of FHU's (31-19) runs crossed in the middle frames with
JJ Pruneau tallying the first of four base hits with a two-run double to cut into an early Cumberland lead.
The Phoenix (35-15-1) scored runs in five innings including a five-run seventh inning highlighted by a three-run homer.
JJ Pruneau recorded half of FHU's eight hits by going 4-4 with two RBI.
Cam Madding had two base hits while dirivng in a team-high three runs.
