HENDERSON — Isabel Croke netted a goal in the first half and in the second half; however, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions fell to the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.) Eutectics 4-2 at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.
The Lady Lions (0-5-1) had some early pressure on the Eutectics with a shot coming in the first 30 seconds of the match, but it was UHSP that struck first with a goal at 13:17. A second Eut goal was netted in the 18th minute.
Ava Pierce and the Lady Lion defense survived a flurry of shots across the next four minutes before Croke netted her first goal of the match when she headed
Abby Schwarz's corner kick offering at 34:01 to make it a 2-1 score at intermission.
UHSP (4-0-0) had a two-assist goal at 52:34 to make it a two goal lead. Pierce was able to get a glove on a shot in the 67th minute, but the shot had too much steam behind it and rolled across the goal line to make it a 4-1 score. Croke needed two shots at 67:04 to score her second goal of the day when her first shot was saved but the rebound found the back of the net to record the final goal of the day.
FHU was out-shot 25-15; however, the Lady Lions had seven shots on target. All three of
Isabel Croke's shots were on goal with two scoring.
Ellie Wood led with five shots with two being on goal.
