KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — In the middle of three straight days of matches, the Freed-Hardeman University Lions picked up their first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over the Johnson (Tenn.) University Royals on Wednesday afternoon.
Freed-Hardeman (1-9) swept the doubles matches to claim the doubles point as
Daniel Bolivar and
Benjamin Ganem earned a 6-3 victory on the No. 1 court.
Tom Marie and
Daan van Miltenburg secured a tiebreak win on the No. 2 court, 7-6(4), while
Carlos Garcia and
Dev Prakash picked up a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles as the Lions took the early lead.
Against the Royals (7-5) in singles play, Ganem earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2 while Marie followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory on the No. 3 court. Prakash fell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Bolivar dropped his match 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4. van Miltenburg secured a 6-3, 6-1 win on the No. 5 court while Garcia rounded out the match with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
