COLUMBIA, Ky. — The (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lions won their third straight Mid-South Conference series with a pair of victories against the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders. After a 7-2 victory in game one, the Lions bested the Blue Raiders, 11-7, in the second game of the day.

Freed-Hardeman (23-10, 6-1 MSC) have used the big inning to their advantage all season, and the opening game was no different. FHU used a five-run fifth to separate from the Blue Raiders in an inning that saw a two-run double from
Brennen Gibson and a three-run homer from
JJ Pruneau.
The Blue Raiders (13-20, 4-6 MSC) were able to avoid the shutout with a pair of runs in the sixth, but the Lions won the series opener.
Brennen Gibson went 3-for-4 from the dish while driving in two runs.
JJ Pruneau followed with two base hits, driving in a team-high three runs.
Hunter McLemore (4-2) had the complete game victory, striking out five Tigers in the victory.

In the second game of the day, the Lions (24-10, 7-1 MSC) lit up the scoreboard, pounding out 16 hits to score 11 runs. FHU plated four runs in the top of the second, highlighted by
Brennen Gibson's two-run single with a pair of outs. That inning began a run where the Lions sent at least one run across for five straight inning.
The Blue Raiders (13-21, 4-7 MSC) hoped that a four-run fourth inning would help turn momentum their way, but FHU continued to add runs until the final out.
JJ Pruneau was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate while driving in two runs.
Brennen Gibson had three base hits, while
Tyree Claxton,
Brooks Jones, and
Hunter Ryan each tallied two base hits.
Jackson Fitzwilson (6-1) continued his dominant year on the bump, tossing six innings where he struck out four batters.
Jackson Hines (1) earned the save with three solid innings of work.
