COLUMBIA, Ky. — The (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lions won their eighth consecutive game, including back-to-back Mid-South Conference sweeps, with an 18-9 victory over the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders.
Freed-Hardeman (25-10, 8-1 MSC) scored early and often with a six-run first inning. The big hit that inning came off of the bat of
Chase Eakes for a two-run homer. FHU would add a seventh run in the third inning.
The Blue Raiders (13-22, 4-8 MSC) rallied in the bottom of the third with a seven-run frame, but
Drake Blackwood highlighted the fourth inning with the first of his day's two home runs. His second came in the very next inning with a three run homer, with
Brennan Petersen adding a three-run shot of his own in the eighth.
Drake Blackwood led FHU's offense with his three hits driving in a team-high five runs.
Hunter McLemore would go 3-for-5, while
Trace Anderson,
Brennen Gibson,
Brooks Jones, and
JJ Pruneau each having two hits.
Colton Bryan struck out three batters in a start that lasted three innings before
Joe Romines (2-1) earned the victory after two innings of relief effort where he punched out four Blue Raiders.

Trace Anderson got things going with a leadoff double before scoring, along with
Brooks Jones, after an errant throw.
Drake Blackwood had a single, later scoring on
Hunter Ryan's sacrifice fly. As a courtesy runner,
Ben Turner would score on a wild pitch before
Alejandro Diaz was hit by a pitch. The very next pitch was sent over the left field wall by
Chase Eakes to finish the six-run frame.

Hunter McLemore leading off with a single. After Anderson hit another double, both runners would score on Jones' two-run single. Blackwood would drive in another pair of runs with a homer to center.
