The Lions traveled to Athens, Ala. to compete in the Firehawk Invitational. Rounds one and two took place on September 14, with the final round happening on September 15. Leo Huddleston started the event off strong with a Round One Score of 70, at a par-72 course, with Drew Massengale shooting a 72. Lane Walton, 77, and Chad Joyner, 79, finished up the scoring for the Lions in Round One to put the team in 8th place out of 13 teams, with a +10 team score. 

Round two proved to be much better for the Lions as they tied for the third best team score of the round. Walton, 70, and Joyner, 71, both shot under par with Lucas Gupton shooting a 72, and Massengale shooting a 73. Their team score of -2 shot them up to sixth place as a team heading into the final day.

In round three, the Lions were unable to replicate their performance from Round 2, shooting a team score of +13 to finish seventh place as a team with a total score of +21. Walton shot a 74 to score +5 overall, Huddleston finished with a 75 and Massengale with a 77, to both finish +6 for the event. Gupton concluded the scoring with a 75 final round to score +10 overall.

Jayce Hutchens competed as an individual at the tournament. After starting the tournament shooting a 78, Hutchens was able to tie the hot round in Round Two with a 69 to shoot up the leaderboard. Hutchens finished the event with a 73 to finish in a tie for 21st place at a +4.
