Box Score LEBANON, Tenn. - Having already clinched the TranSouth Conference regular season championship and the top seed in next week's conference tournament, there was little pressure on the Freed-Hardeman Lions entering the final conference series of the year at Cumberland (Tenn.) University.

FHU still split a double-header, winning 7-6 in nine innings before dropping the second game, 10-4.

The Lions (36-18, 16-7) got home runs from Jesse Hykes (9) and Ben Ihde (3) in building a 5-2 lead heading into the home half of the seventh inning. But Cumberland tied the game with three runs off of Amos Bingham to send it into extra innings.

Pete Trollinger singled to start the ninth inning and Ihde followed with a double. Jake Todd and Kyle Dearing followed with sacrifice flies to bring both runners home for a 7-5 lead.

Bingham (2-2) allowed a leadoff double to pinch hitter Craig Monson but retired the next two batters before a single by Sam Lind cut the FHU lead to one. It was as close as CU would get as Bingham got Mike Mandarino to line out to left field to end the game.

In game two, the Bulldogs used a six-run third inning to blow the game open. The Lions got solo shots from Justin Mackey (3) and two from Robert Prieto (5), but none were enough to overcome the early deficit.

Daniel Wallace (0-5) took the loss, allowing eight runs before being chased with two outs in the third.

The Lions complete the series and the regular season tomorrow with a single game at 2:00 PM.
