University on Saturday, which was the American Midwest Conference and NAIA Game of the Week last week. The match went down to the final play as Lyon sophomore Jeremy Porter found the back of the net with 16 seconds remaining in the match.

The victory for Lyon put them just eight points behind conference frontrunner Columbia (Mo) College (14-2, 9-0) in the conference standings The Scots are now tied with Park University for second place in the American Midwest Conference.

LAST TIME THEY MET

The Lions traveled to Batesville, Ark. last season for their match up with Lyon College and came away with an impressive 3-2 victory on the road after a penalty kick by Alex Meany sealed the contest in the 82nd minute.

FHU faced an early deficit in the sixth minute when Lyon midfielder Brandon Roque fired in a shot from the middle of the box past FHU keeper Zach Johnson off an assist by Abdullah Adam. The score remained 1-0 until the Lions equalized the match in the 32nd minute on a goal from Stefano Basso.

The second half in the match would belong to Alex Meany as he scored two goals to give the Lions just enough to pick up the impressive victory on the road. Meany's first goal equalized the match a two apiece in the 52nd minute after Matt Mescher's attempted flick near the left side resulted in a penalty kick, which Meany was able to fire past Lyon keeper Rob Brown.

Meany would get the nod again in the 82nd minute to take the penalty kick after Stefano Basso was clipped in the box. Meany would find the back of the net again as he fired a low shot to the left post to secure the Lions 3-2 victory.

The upset-minded Lions will look to defeat the Scots for a second straight year as they attempt to pick up their sixth win of the season tonight at 7:00 PM at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.
