Coleman's gem earns AMC Pitcher of the Week honors

Box Score
HENDERSON, Tenn. - After tossing the first nine-inning complete game shutout at Freed-Hardeman in over 13 years, Jack Coleman has been named the American Midwest Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 1.

Coleman, a junior from Paducah, Ky., earned his third win in as many starts on Saturday, Feb. 28, against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) as he tossed a two-hitter and went the distance in the nine-inning back side of a double-header. He walked three and hit two batters while striking out five and stranding six runners on base.

The Lions (9-3) won both ends of the twinbill as Coleman improved to 3-0 and lowered his ERA to 2.45 on the year. He is the first player for Freed-Hardeman to win the award this year.

Coleman is in his first year at Freed-Hardeman after transferring from former conference member Mid-Continent (Ky.) University.
