HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Soccer teams dropped a pair of matches Tuesday evening on Senior Night, as the Lady Lions suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in double overtime while the men's team took a 7-2 loss at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.

Following the women's match and prior to the start of the men's game, the FHU Soccer teams honored its senior players, which included Erin Douglas, Cortnie Fitts, Melissa Ross, Avis Van Kampen, Jose Andrada, Enoch Chondol, Welton Degraffreed, Jean Carlo Rodriguez and Andrij Sawczuk.

The Lady Lions kicked things off first and led for a majority of the match, as they kept Lyon College scoreless through the first 88 minutes of regulation. However, a late goal by the Scots near the end of regulation followed by another goal in double overtime sent FHU home with their seventh loss of the season.

Sam Clymer got the scoring drive started for the Lady Lions (6-7-2, 4-7 AMC), as she found the back of the net in the 50th minute off an assist by Maria Espinoza Castillo to put FHU up 1-0 early in the second half.

However, despite keeping a 1-0 lead for a majority of the match, Lyon College (7-7-2, 6-4 AMC) put together a late push capped off by a Joyce Barbosa goal in the 89th minute to even things up at one apiece and force overtime.

Barbosa; however, would not be done, as she found the back of the net once again for the Scots in the final minute of the second overtime period to give Lyon College all they needed to secure the win.

With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 6-7-2 on the season and 4-7 in conference play. Lyon College moves to 7-7-2 on the season and 6-4 in AMC play with the win.

Meanwhile in the men's match, the Lions (4-12, 2-8 AMC) fell behind early and could not get back on track, as they suffered the 7-2 loss in the nightcap.

Despite the loss, the Lions received solid contribution from Seniors Jose Andrada and Andrij Sawczuk, as each fired in one goal apiece. The Scots (9-7, 7-4 AMC) out-shot the Lions 18-7 in the match with 10 of Lyon's shots coming on goal. FHU, on the other hand, attempted just five shots on goal in the loss.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 4-12 on the season and 2-8 in conference play. Lyon College improves to 9-7 on the season and 7-4 in AMC play with the win.
