HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Freed-Hardeman University women's basketball team (8-3, 5-0 AMC) defeated Hannibal-LaGrange (2-9, 0-5 AMC) 74-29 on Thursday afternoon to remain unbeaten in the conference.
The Lady Lions led from start to finish in the lopsided win. A balanced offensive attack and a phenomenal defensive performance helped the Lady Lions win in convincing fashion. They forced 31 turnovers, and picked up 21 steals on defense, and on offense, they had an outburst in the third quarter where they outscored HLGU 30-7.
Caroline Chambers set a new career-high in points, as she led all scorers with 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds, just shy of a double-double. Alyssa LeMay put together a double-double performance with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Chynia Brooks rounded out the double-digit scorers with 15 points.
The Lady Lions are on a four-game win streak going into Saturday's matchup with No. 12 Columbia College, who is also undefeated in AMC play. Tip-off for Saturday's game is 1 p.m. at the Brewer Sports Center.
