Lions drop two at Lindsey Wilson

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 25 Lions (17-18, 10-5 MSC) lost the first two games of a three-game slate with Lindsey Wilson (17-17, 11-9 MSC) 13-9 in game one and 2-1 in game two.

The Blue Raiders jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game one before Dylan Lott scored on a wild pitch in the second inning to make it 2-1. Lindsey Wilson went on to score four more runs in the bottom of the third to make it 7-1, but the Lions responded with five runs in the fourth, highlighted by a leadoff home run from Lott and a two-run shot by Von Watson.

Lindsey Wilson would go on to add three runs in the bottom half of the fourth, followed by three straight innings with one run to make it 13-7. The Lions added a run in both the eighth and ninth innings, but their comeback fell short.

While runs were seemingly scored at will in game one, they were at a premium in game two of the day.

Lindsey Wilson got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Lions were able to tie it up in the top of the fifth thanks to a leadoff home run by Dom Pisano. The Blue Raiders responded with a go-ahead run in the bottom half of the inning, which they held onto for the win.

The series will come to a close on Tuesday when the two teams meet for a single contest. Game time is scheduled for 12 noon.
