Hobbs' Big Day Not Enough As Lady Lions Fall to Indians

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed Hardeman Lady Lions JV Basketball team falls to the Itawamba (Miss.) Community College Indians by a score of 86-44. The Lady Lions were tested early on their depth and the Indians were able to capitalize on their very strong start to the season.

With the Lady Lions leading late in the first quarter 12-9, the Indians battled back to end the first quarter by a score of 17-12. The Lady Lions struggled in the second quarter and in return turned halftime to a 47-20 score at halftime. The Lady Lions battled hard hard in the next second half, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. The Indians dominated the glass on both sides of the court and played a very strong press defense.

Mia Hobbs was a strong presence on both sides of the court for the Lady Lions. Hobbs tallied 21 points on the afternoon. Ella Eaker and Izzie Polania added on points as well. The Lady Lions will finish up their season this upcoming week.
