MIDWAY, Ky. — The Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman University competed in their final non-conference match of the season where they faced 29 total shots in a 2-0 loss to the Midway (Ky.) University Eagles.

FHU (4-9-0) was off to a strong start when Alexia Lorenzo Pereira's shot pinging off the post at 1:24. After FHU keeper Ava Pierce registered three saves, one of Midway's strikers missed wide, then high, before netting the first goal of the match at 33:06 which set the first half score at 1-0.

The Eagles (6-7-1) changed gears in the second half, increasing from eight shots in the first half to a staggering 29 shots in the second frame. Gabriela Albrecht, Rachel Dollar, and Ellie Wood got off the three FHU shots in the second half before the Eagles erased any hope of a comeback with a goal in the 89th minute to top FHU 2-0.
