MIDWAY, Ky. — The Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman University competed in their final non-conference match of the season where they faced 29 total shots in a 2-0 loss to the Midway (Ky.) University Eagles.
FHU (4-9-0) was off to a strong start when Alexia Lorenzo Pereira's shot pinging off the post at 1:24. After FHU keeper
Ava Pierce registered three saves, one of Midway's strikers missed wide, then high, before netting the first goal of the match at 33:06 which set the first half score at 1-0.
The Eagles (6-7-1) changed gears in the second half, increasing from eight shots in the first half to a staggering 29 shots in the second frame.

Ellie Wood got off the three FHU shots in the second half before the Eagles erased any hope of a comeback with a goal in the 89th minute to top FHU 2-0.
