HENDERSON — After celebrating their seniors, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions tangled with the Tigers of Georgetown College. Despite both teams having even shots on target, the Lion Lions finish on the wrong end of a 3-0 decision.
Freed-Hardeman (4-11-0, 0-5-0 MSC) fell behind early when the second shot for the Tigers found the back of the net at 9:22 to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Tsielo Mokebe would fire two shots on target, with a shot from
Ellie Wood between, but all three were saved by the GC keeper. A late attempt was swatted away by
Ava Pierce to end the first half with the Lady Lions in a 1-0 deficit.Â
The Tigers (6-4-5, 1-4-0 MSC) came out furiously aggressive in the second half, with a shot, four corner kicks, and an offside all within a four-minute span. GC broke through in the 63rd minute with their second goal before putting the match out of reach with their third goal at 64:28 to finish the 3-0 match.
Georgetown took nine total shots while FHU sent eight toward the net with both clubs putting seven shots on target.
