FHU runs at Rhodes Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The men's and women's track and field teams were in action on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, at the Rhodes (Tenn.) College Invitational in Memphis. Seventeen teams competed at Rhodes, including MSC rival Bethel (Tenn.) University and NCAA D1 teams the University of Memphis, Arkansas State University, and the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Senior Sean Janiec placed 5th in the men's 400 meter race with a time of 49.15 seconds, setting a new FHU school record, besting his own previous school record.

Janiec excelled in the men's 200 meter race, as well. His personal record time of 22.73 seconds is the second fastest in FHU history. Sophomore Noah Johnson ran the fifth fastest 200m time in school history, and senior Hayden Cook set a new personal record in the event.

Johnson, Cook, and senior Caleb Bond set personal records in the men's 100 meter run, with Johnson running the third fastest time in FHU history.

Senior Nathan Mangrum placed 4th in the men's 10,000 meter race with the fifth fastest time in school history and his second best 10K time.

Also placing 4th overall was the men's 4 x 800 meter relay team of Grant O'Neal, Barrett Poe, Bo Scott, and Brock Windham. Their relay time is the third fastest in FHU school history.

In the women's one-mile race, sophomore Megan Lampley set a new FHU school record, with sophomore Eliza Poe and junior Zena Dorris running the second and third fastest FHU times ever in the event. Likewise, in the men's one-mile race, freshman Daniel Puckett set a new FHU school record, and junior Drew Williams ran the second fastest time in program history.

Other personal records were set by Malik James in the men's shot put; Zola Dorris, Megan Lampley, and Elizabeth McKeeby in the women's 5,000 meter run; and Danny Douglas, Daniel Puckett, Mike Rolan, and Drew Williams in the men's 5,000 meter run.
