HENDERSON — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lion soccer team had to overcome a two-hour weather delay, but were able to come out on top of the Lady Eagles of Williams Baptist (Ark.) University with a 4-0 shutout.
The Lady Lions (4-5-0) got on the board at 14:22 when
Alexia Lorenzo-Pereira one-timed a pass from
Gabriela Albrecht to earn her second goal of the season. After the two-hour delay and an abbreviated halftime, Lorenzo-Pereira struck again with the help of Schwarz after a pass from the goal line in the 59th minute.
Sophia Haddad de Lima accepted a pass from midfield before dribbling around the remaining Williams Baptist (2-7-0) defenders to net her first goal of the year at 66:00.Â
Tsielo Mokebe put the icing on the cake after scoring a goal thanks to a through pass from
Ericka Montenegro in the 87th minute.
FHU sent 24 shots toward the WBU keeper with 12 being on target.
Ava Pierce earned the clean sheet by saving all four shots on goal.
