CHICKASHA, Okla. — In their first game of the 2025 season the (RV) Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions faced off with the No. 5 Oregon Tech Lady Owls. A seven-run fifth inning spelled doom for FHU as they fell 9-0 in five innings.
The Lady Lions (0-1) fell behind early after a leadoff walk was followed by a steal and a passed ball, easily setting up an RBI single. FHU got their first base knock of the season when
Gracie Wilson shot a single down the right field line in the top of the third.
Oregon Tech (3-0) plated seven runs in the fifth inning off of four hits, with the game-ending eighth run being scored on the front end of a two-run homer in the 9-0 final.
Chloe Carter recorded the other FHU base hit while
Kylee Brown (0-1) struck out three in the 4 2/3 inning loss.
