Box Score 2 NEW ORLEANS — The Lions of Freed-Hardeman University mounted a furious comeback in the first game of the Saturday doubleheader where they fell 12-11 to the No. 21 Loyola (La.) University Wolfpack before falling 13-8 in the second game of the day.

The Lions (5-3) fell behind in the first inning when the Wolpack knocked in two runs. FHU answered with a run in the top of the second.
Loyola (5-2) began to extend their lead with a five-run second inning thanks in part to a bases-clearing double to take a 7-1 lead.
FHU mounted a furious comeback by scoring seven runs in the final two innings highlighted by a two-run homer from
Trace Anderson.
Cam Madding had a two-run triple in the top of the seventh before
Cade Fuller's double put the tying run on third, but FHU could not cash in to fall 12-11.
Cam Madding was 3-3 at the plate to drive in three runs.
Trace Anderson's two hits drove in a team-high four RBI while
Dalton Bonner and
Jordan Carter head tallied two base hits.
Colton Bryant (0-1) took the loss after 1 2/3 innings of action.

Freed-Hardeman (5-4) were locked in at the start of the game with
Trace Anderson,
Jordan Carter, and
Cade Fuller all collecting singles before a big fly from
JJ Pruneau drove in three runs to help lift FHU to a 4-0 lead.
Loyola (6-2) answered the bell by scoring three runs in the home half of the first before tying the game in the bottom of the second. A three-run third inning gave the Wolfpack a 7-4 lead. It was the fifth inning that vaulted the Wolfpack way in from where they scored six runs including a three-run homer.
Brooks Jones and Anderson each had solo home runs in the late innings, but could not overcome the early deficit to fall 13-8
JJ Pruenau led the Lions by going 3-4 from the disk while driving in three runs.

Hunter Bennett tossed two inning in a no-decision start before giving way to
Hunter McLemore (0-1) who was charged with the loss after 2 1/3 innings.
