CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The Lions of Freed-Hardeman University were white hot from the dish in the series opener against the (RV) Campbellsville University Tigers with FHU tallying two five-run innings to defeat CU 16-3 in seven innings.
The Lions (25-15, 6-3 MSC) jumped out early with a leadoff walk from
Trace Anderson being followed by
Cade Fuller's first big fly. FHU would later score five runs in the second inning highlighted by doubles from
Jordan Carter and
Cam Madding.
Campbellsville (26-11, 5-4 MSC) scored all three of their runs off of home runs, but Fuller was not finished at the plate by connecting for another two-run home run:Â his 11th of the season. The Lions later added five unearned runs in the top of the seventh to trigger the 16-3 run-rule victory.
Cade Fuller's monstrous offensive day saw the sophomore go 4-5 from the plate while driving in a team-high six RBI and scoring four runs of his own.
Trace Anderson and
Jordan Carter each chipped in two base knocks.
Matthew Riley (5-1) got the victory after hurling five complete innings where he struck out seven Tiger hitters.

Ben Turner and
Austin Johnson before Jones scored on Fuller's single. Carter would later smash a two-run single to score Fuller and Anderson to put FHU over the 10-run threshold.
