BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman University completed the first two rounds of the Mid-South Conference Championship in fifth place. After trimming five strokes off of their 337 (+49) first round total, their 332 (+44) helped them to a two-round 669 (+93).
The first round's par-5 holes were kind to the Lady Lions with three of the FHU birdies coming on the par-5s.
Maria Ortiz carded birdies on the fifth and 18th holes while a birdie on the par-3 third hole helped her score 81 (+9) in the first round. She repeated the 18th hole birdie in the secound round to help her score 80 (+8). Finishing in a tie for 14th place, she led the Lady Lions with a two-round 161 (+17).
Reagan Malone had a birdie on the par-5 second hole to lead her to score 81 (+9). In the second round she had eight pars to tally 84 (+12) and combine for 165 (+21) and tie for 18th place.
Riya Key was one-under on the par-4 10th hole in the first round to finish with 86 (+14). In the second round she carded six consecutive pars to trim three strokes to score 83 (+11) and combine for 169 (+25) and place 23rd.
With four straight pars in the first round helping her score 89 (+17),
Ansley Pratt finished with a share of 27th place after her second round scored 85 (+13) to aggregate 173 (+30).
Maggie Crouch scored a two-round 184 (+40) with a first round of 81 (+19) and a birdie on the par-4 17th hole sending her to a 93 (+21) second round.
