Five Things to Know:
1. Winning Series
The Lions only lost three series all season with the rest being either splits of wins. Just one of those losses came out of league play.
2. Flashing Leather
FHU had three players selected as Gold Glove winners for their position with Cooper Johnson having the best fielding year for MSC pitchers, Cade Fuller for third base, and Dalton Bonner as a right fielder.
3. Improving their Resume
Freed-Hardeman is looking to advance to the NAIA National Championship for the seventh consecutive year. With the Mid-South only having one automatic bid for the tournament champions, FHU would earn a berth either by winning the Mid-South Tournament or with an at-large bid.
4. Regular Season Success
In the regular season meetup between the Lions and the Wildcats, FHU took two games of the three-game series in a rain-delayed weekend. The weekend series typically played on Friday and Saturday was bumped back to a Monday and Tuesday set.
5. Four Awarded
Bethel had four players receive awards in the MSC postseason: Jared Hall was a first team All-Conference selection as an outfield and Klayton Wright as a first team pitcher. Ivan Vega was the catcher on the second team while Jose Olmeda won the second base Gold Glove.
