Second half flurry hands Lady Lions MSC loss

HENDERSON — Opening the 2025 Mid-South Conference slate the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions hosted the (RV) Campbellsville University Tigers. After holding Campbellsville to one first half goal, the Lady Lions watched as the guests scored four in the second frame to hand FHU a 5-0 loss.

The Lady Lions (0-8-1, 0-1-0 MSC) were peppered by shots from the opening whistle with Ava Pierce and Avery Branch teaming up between the pipes to face 38 shots: 19 in each half. The first goal for the Tigers crossed in the 14th minute after a cross in the penalty area.

Campbellsville (5-5-0, 1-0-0 MSC) scored a little less than two minutes into the second half befe adding a third goal at 49:31. Two more would cross in the 61st and the 85th minutes to wrap the scoring.

Isabel Croke, Hadley Husband, and Ellie Wood each registered shots on goal. Ava Pierce made six saves while Avery Branch kept out three.
