HENDERSON — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions and the visiting Bethel University Lady Wildcats fought for 81:12 in a scoreless draw. The Lady Lions then saw two goals cross in the final eight minutes to fall 2-0.
Freed-Hardeman (0-10-1, 0-2-0 MSC) survived an extended onslaught in the first half to set up
Isabel Croke's shot at 25:08. Despite the good strike, Bethel's keeper made the save to keep the scores level. On the other side of the pitch,
Ava Pierce mad three saves to keep the Wildcats off of the board.
Averaging 15.3 shots per game it was no surprise that Bethel (2-6-0, 1-0-0 MSC) unloaded 22 shots toward the FHU net in the second half. Six of those were on target and saved until the Wildcats got on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal at 81:12. A second goal was scored in the 89th minute to put the match out of reach with the 2-0 final.
