CONWAY, Ark. — Despite winning the doubles point, the Freed-Hardeman University Lions fell to the Hendrix (Ark.) College Warriors, 4-3, in the spring season opener.
The duo of
Carlos Garcia and
Martin Brena picked up the win for the Lions (0-1) on the No. 2 court 6-4 while
Tom Marie and Daan van Miltenberg secured the point with a 6-3 victory.
Daniel Bolivar and
Benjamin Ganem fell on the No. 1 court 6-2.
On the No. 1 singles court, Ganem took his Warrior (4-1) opponent to a tiebreak set where he fell 6-1, 2-6, 1-0(8). Marie came up short despite forcing a tiebreaker in the second set 6-3, 7-6(5). Bolivar had a victory on the No. 3 court with a tiebreak set, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0(8) while van Miltenberg won on 6-2, 6-2. Garcia fell 6-2, 6-3 while
Tanmay Tomar came up short in a 6-2, 6-0 match.
