MILLINGTON, Tenn. — There was no shortage of runs in the Freed-Hardeman Lions' final day at the Midwest Clash. After falling to the Mission (Mo.) University Patriots, 10-6, FHU battled back to defeat the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers, 11-2.

The Lions (8-3) struggled defensively in the first game, committing four errors. FHU showed life late with a two-homer inning from
Drake Blackwood and
Brennen Gibson in the top of the sixth.
Mission (8-8) saw the Lions connect for a pair of singles and place the tying run on deck; however, a new pitcher shut down FHU to close the game.
The Lions out-hit the Patriots 11 to 10 with
Trace Anderson,
Brennen Gibson, and
Hunter McLemore each tallying two base knocks.
Jackson Hines (2-1) was charged with the loss despite striking out four Patriots.

In the second game of the day, the Lions (9-3) plated 11 runs, including a five-run fifth inning, to get back in the win column. That fifth inning featured two sacrifice flies and a two-run single from
JJ Pruneau.
UNOH (3-7) could not figure out FHU starter
Grayson Waller (2-1) who got the win after five innings where he punched out seven Racers.
