COLUMBUS, Ga. — To conclude the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Kickoff, the (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions led early, but ultimately fell to the No. 4 Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies, 6-4.
After the Grizzlies got on the board first, the Lady Lions (3-4) answered with a big hit from
Myleah Hardy, who connected for a three-run blast to give FHU a 3-1 lead.
Annalee Qualls drove home FHU's final run of the inning with a single.
Georgia Gwinnett (8-10) answered well with a four-run second inning before adding another run in the third. Neither team would score in the final four frames, ending the game at 6-4 in favor of GGC.
Chloe Carer was 3-for-3 from the plate while
Karli Quillin and
Myleah Hardy each tallied two hits.
Anna Rogers (1-1) tossed 1 1/3 innings worth of a start before giving way to the bullpen.
Katy Gartrell hurled the final four innings where she struck out three without giving up a run.
