HENDERSON — Finishing their first Mid-South Conference series of the season, the (RV) Freed-Hareman University Lions had a big first inning to lead them to a 10-1 victory, winning the series over the Georgetown Tigers two games to one.
The Lions (16-6, 2-1 MSC) drove in four runs in the bottom half of the first inning including a set of doubles from
Brooks Jones and
JJ Pruneau.
FHU extended their lead over Georgetown (8-14, 1-2 MSC) in the third inning thanks to a two-run smash from
Brooks Jones. Three more Lion runs would cross in the seventh inning to give FHU the big win.
Brooks Jones was 4-for-5 in the game where he drove in nearly half of FHU's 10 runs with a four-RBI day.
Jackson Hines got the start where he tossed four innings, but the win went to
Grayson Waller (3-1) who punched out six Tigers in five hitless innings of relief.
