HENDERSON — The (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions began a three-game weekend series against the No. 15 University of the Cumberlands Patriots. The visitors claimed the victory, 7-1.
The Lady Lions (11-11, 5-2 MSC) fell behind early with the Patriots plating three runs in the first two innings.
Alivia Eggleston led off the second inning with a single, while
Lana Rowland picked up a base hit.
Cumberlands (20-10, 5-2 MSC) had their best inning in the top of the fifth when they plated three runs before adding a seventh in the sixth. Eggleson had another base hit, this time driving home FHU's lone run.
The Lady Lions had six hits, two each coming from the bats of
Alivia Eggleston and
Lana Rowland.
Reagan Locke (1-3) had the start where she hurled five innings with one strikeout.
